“Once in a Whale” is a site-specific dance performance that expresses global concerns about our climate and the importance of human bonds. Four sections – Fall, Summer, Winter, and Spring – take the audience on a journey through the elaborate lobby of Center Blue in the Pacific Design Center. Designed by Cesar Pelli in 1975, the work is choreographed around the center’s architectural qualities. “Once in a Whale” is directed and choreographed by Heidi Duckler in collaboration with five professional dancers from the company. The dancers include Tess Hewlett, Jillian Meyers, Ryan Page, Himerria Wortham and Raymond Ejiofor. Mimi Haddon, a frequent collaborator with Heidi Duckler, will create new costumes and a fabric instillation set design. The work is accompanied by live violin and percussion with Yvette Cornelia Holzwarth and Nick Hon.

This performance was made possible with funding from the City of West Hollywood’s WeHo Arts Program.
